As part of the 42 St Connection Project, we're replacing elevators, escalators, and adding new stairs to make it easier to get in to, out of, and around Times Square-42 St Station.
Stairs
In Times Square, we permanently closed the staircase between Shuttle Track 4 that connects the Shuttle platform with the street between 42nd and 43rd Sts. We're replacing it with a larger point of entry.
Alternate Travel Options
To access the Shuttle from the street, use the stairways at Broadway and W 42 St. To access the street from the platform, use the alternate stairway in the station toward Broadway and W 42 St.
Train Service
The 42 St Shuttle will continue to operate most times while we work through 2022. For the most up-to-date planned service change information and alternative travel options, check our Planned Service Change page.
