Replacing express track on the D line at Rockefeller Center

Updated August 3, 2021

The express tracks that southbound trains use near the 47-50 Sts Rockefeller Ctr Station are nearing the end of their useful life and will need to be replaced. We're installing about 1200 feet of continuous welded rail and new track ties. When completed, we will be able to provide a smoother ride and more reliable service. During this time we will also work on the 8th Ave     lines installing the CBTC system between Canal St and Fulton St.

What's happening with service and when:

We'll need eight weeks of overnight work and five weekends to complete this work. There will be service at all stations, but you may need to transfer to another line or connect between trains to complete your trip.
