Before you contact us, make sure you have looked at our step-by-step guide to what to do if you lose something. We’re the last stop for items lost on New York Transit, but they don't get to us right away. If you lost the item recently, there are other places you should check first.
You can file a lost and found claim online, 24 hours a day. We recommend doing that before calling or visiting.

Address and directions
Our offices are at the 34 St-Penn Station (8 Av) subway stop. You can take the subway (A, C, E) lines or the M10, M17, M20, M34 buses to 34th Street/8th Avenue.
If you enter from the street, go to the station booth and tell the Station Agent you are going to the Lost Property office. If you have one, present a lost property claim number or notification postcard. The representative will let you through the turnstiles without having to pay a fare.
Once you are inside the station, take the stairs to the lower mezzanine. Follow the signs to the Lost Property Office.
