At MTA Bridges and Tunnels facilities, you can use your E-ZPass in dedicated E-ZPass lanes. Look for the purple and white E-ZPass signs to find the correct lanes. At other agencies, there may be mixed use lanes (which accept cash or E-ZPass) or dedicated lanes.

- What is E-ZPass On-the-Go and how do I get one?

E-ZPass On-the-Go is a pre-paid tag that eliminates waiting in line at an E-ZPass Customer Service Center. Customer may purchase pre-paid tags at a participating retail location and register the tag online. You must register your tag before you use it. Tags may be used the day after they are registered.
- The gate in the E-ZPass lane doesn't always go up when I hold my E-ZPass near the windshield. How do I fix this?

The best way to prevent this is to mount your tag on the inside of your vehicle´ss windshield so the tag´s sensors can be read. The E-ZPass Customer Service Center will provide you with free mounting strips and instructions. Call 1-800- 333-8655 or visit the E-ZPass Service Center website.
- What if I go through Cashless Tolling without an E-ZPass?

If the vehicle doesn’t have an E-ZPass, its license plate will be photographed by a plate reader. Then a Tolls By Mail bill for the non-discounted cash rate will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. You may pay these bills by mail, phone or in person, using a check, credit card, bank account or cash.
