Regular Service on the Waterbury Branch to Resume October 3

Updated October 1, 2021 10:10 a.m.

Waterbury customers,

Regular train service on the Waterbury branch will resume on Sunday, October 3, following the completion of significant infrastructure work.

Extra weekday busing will also return to supplement the 4:36 p.m. and 7:01 p.m. train departures from Bridgeport, with buses departing at 4:46 p.m. and 7:13 p.m., and making express and local stops to Waterbury with connecting service to mainline trains.

For details on the resumption of train service, please see our updated service poster.

The schedule was changed to accommodate critical work that includes the replacement of 12,000 ties, resurfacing of track, replacement of the rail at track curves in Milford, rehabilitation of the passing sidings, fixes and enhancements to the Derby, Ansonia, Naugatuck, and Canal Bridges, and enhancements to the Gulf Oil and Caswell Grade Crossings.
