August 2: 34th Street Elevator at Penn Station to Close Due to Construction

Penn Station Elevator Closure

Starting on Monday, August 2, the elevator at the 34th Street entrance to Penn Station will be taken out of service to ensure construction activity in this area can be safely performed. The elevator is expected to reopen by the end of the month.

Alternate Accessible Travel Instructions 

From the elevator at street level: Proceed south through Pearson Park towards 33 St. Make a right, then left, to continue south via the pedestrian passageway. Enter Penn Station through the Amtrak entrance between 31st and 33rd St., between 7th and 8th Ave, and take the elevator down to the Lower Level. Then, proceed through the Main Gate Concourse for access to LIRR and NYCT service.

From the elevator at concourse level: Proceed towards the LIRR Concourse and follow signs for LIRR Tracks 13-19. At the East End Gateway escalator entrance, turn left through the Main Gate Corridor, then make a right at the Hilton Passageway and look for the elevator to the street. Take this elevator to the Amtrak Upper Level to exit the station between 31st and 33rd St., between 7th and 8th Ave.
