One Tube Closed All Weekend At Hugh L. Carey Tunnel April 25-28
One tube at the Hugh L. Carey Tunnel will be closed from 9 p.m. Fri., April 25 through 5 a.m. Mon., April 28 as part of the project to replace the tunnel’s original 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables.
The remaining tube will have one lane heading into Manhattan and one lane into Brooklyn. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route if possible.

E-ZPass On-the-Go Sales in Cash Lanes Tops 300,000 At MTA Crossings
More than 300,000 E-ZPass On-the-Go tags have been sold in cash lanes at MTA’s seven bridges and two tunnels since the program began in June 2011, proving that drivers love the convenience and savings of 
E-ZPass rather than sitting in long lines, fumbling for cash and change at toll booths. 
Sales in cash lanes reached the 300,000 milestone on Thursday, April 3. The tags can be purchased in cash lanes for $30, plus the price of the current trip.

Marine Parkway Pedestrian Walkway Closed During Daytime Hours Beginning Monday, April 14

The Marine Parkway-Gil Hodges Memorial Bridge pedestrian walkway will be closed to pedestrians and bicyclists daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, April 14 while the mile-long, six-foot-wide walkway is resurfaced.

Free shuttle buses, which can hold eight passengers and four bicycles, will ferry pedestrians and bikers across the bridge at approximately 15-minute intervals throughout the day while the path is closed. The walkway will be reopened each day after 5 p.m.

Bronx-Whitestone Bridge: Celebrating 75 Years

MTA Bridges and Tunnels’ Bronx-Whitestone Bridge will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the bridge’s 1939 opening with historic exhibits at museums in Queens and the Bronx, and will kick off with a roundtable discussion on the history of the bridge this month.

Verrazano-Narrows Bridge New Father Capodanno Ramp Opened

MTA Bridges and Tunnels announced the reconstructed Brooklyn-bound Father Capodanno Boulevard ramp at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge was opened to traffic Friday morning. The new, wider two-lane ramp is part of the $50 million project to improve traffic flow on the bridge’s ramps and approach roadways.

Manhattan-bound Henry Hudson Bridge Toll Plaza Being Reconfigured
The Manhattan-bound Henry Hudson Bridge toll plaza is being reconfigured to merge two narrower toll lanes into one wider lane to improve traffic flow for motorists both before and after the toll plaza. 
The two toll lanes that are being combined are under 10-feet wide and will be merged into one 11-foot-6-inch lane with striped buffers on either side. The work, which is dependent on good weather, will take approximately three weeks to complete and is expected to begin Mon. March 24.

RFK Bridge Harlem River Lift Span Intermittent Closures 
There will be multiple, intermittent closures for maintenance work at the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge’s Harlem River Lift Span Fri., March 21 between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. for maintenance work. 
All work is dependent on good weather. Motorists should expect delays and use an alternate route if possible. Each closure is expected to last between 15 and 20 minutes.

SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY: RFK Bridge Manhattan/Queens Ramp Full Intermittent Closures Overnight For Two Weeks Beginning Thurs. March 20

There will be multiple, intermittent closures of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge ramp leading from Manhattan to Queens nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for approximately two weeks from Thurs., March 20 through Fri., April 4.

The closures will last from 5-10 minutes and are necessary for the installation of new steel beams. All work is dependent on good weather.
