Manhattan Bridge inspection and changes to D service

April 16 to 19, and April 23 to 26, we are suspending D service in Manhattan and the Bronx, so that the New York State Department of Transportation can inspect the Manhattan Bridge. Here’s more about how to get around.

If you normally take the , especially to/from Brooklyn, you’ll want to give yourself extra travel time during these two weekends. You may need to start your trip at a different station, use a different line, transfer, or take a shuttle bus. Posters will be up inside stations to help you navigate.

 

 

Here’s how trains will run:

From 11:30 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Mondays, trains will run in Brooklyn only. trains will not run in the Bronx and Manhattan. In the Bronx and Upper Manhattan, we’re rerouting trains. They’ll run on the line between 205 St and Columbus Circle, then continue on the line, their regular route along Central Park West and 8 Avenue.  

Overnight, while trains do not operate,  trains will operate between 205 St and 145 St only. 

trains will still run within Brooklyn, between Atlantic Av and Coney Island-Stillwell.

Free shuttle buses will make all stops between W 4 St and Grand St in Manhattan.

Here are your best travel options:

If you need to get between Manhattan and The Bronx, you’ll take the or :

  • Take the   trains to/from 8 Av stations.
  • To get to 6 Avenue, transfer at W 4 St between  trains and northbound  trains.
  • Late nights and early mornings, use the shuttle to connect with the   at Yankee Stadium and the   at 145 St.
  • Or, you can start your trip on the  for service along Jerome Avenue and to the east side of Manhattan. 

If you need to get between Manhattan and Brooklyn you’ll want to start your trip at a   station and transfer to the  at Atlantic Av/Barclays Center.

  • Use the  to/from 7 Avenue line stations. 
 
  • Use the  to/from Broadway line stations, including 34 St-Herald Sq at 6 Avenue. 
 
  • Transfer to the at Atlantic Av/Barclays Center.

Reminder for C line customers:

Local trains replace the between 145 St and 168 St. 

 Trains are rerouted via  between 145 St and 205 St 
 

Transfer at 145 St to continue your trip.
